Wanted - Right hand combination switch @ handlebar R1200C \ R1100S \ R850 C
Did your starter button also fall off?
From your comment I guess it will be soon. I think you should just give me a list of what I will be replacing next and the order thereof ;) The funny thing is the kill switch broke 15 minutes after BMW serviced it. Why did it not break in the shop ? Damn you Murphy ! Oh well .. C'est la Vie.
No, it's not common, but I'm also not the first person it's happened to. The bitch is that you can't just replace the button - you have to get the whole RHS unit replaced at a cost of ~R2700... but then you already knew that.
The kill switch I could do without... the starter button, not so much. Stalled it in traffic the other day and was thankful for the helmet hiding my red face as I took my glove off, fished out the pin I keep in my jacket, hit the starter with the pin, put pin back, glove on... and waited for the next green light.
Thing is the kill switch is now loose. it does not click into place and can freely move to both Off positions.
I need to McGafter something to hold it in the On positition otherwise I am looking for trouble.
Imagine passing someone and all of a sudden your bike is switched off by the wind..
Makes me cold just thinking about it.
I have found a 2nd hand replacement. Now I just need to find some dough.
OK, that's a bit more serious. Send me a mail on charlatan.za@gmail.com... maybe we can work out a mutually beneficial deal since I only need the starter button while you only need the kill switch.
I'm checking eBay as we speak.
