Sir De Villiers Graaff - 2nd baronet of De Grendel

Today's featured pass was submitted by an adventure biker - Keith Pickersgill. This is a perfect route to ride this Sunday or next public holiday.
This remote pass connects through a complex story with Sir De Villiers Graaff. This is a must read. The page is open to BMW Club members till next week. Enjoy!

We also discuss issues around farm gate etiquette. You're welcome to add in your 2c worth...…

We research, document, index and film publicly accessible passes and poorts of South Africa. That's what we do. Where we are able to establish the builder of a pass, we publish that too - but if we don't know about someone who first drove/rode the route and shared it on the internet, then that information will obviously not be included.

Write to us or call us if you have a whinge and we will do our best to clear it up.

Are there any questions?

I think your response is inappropriate.

You may think so David. You are entitled to your point of view. We prefer if people contact us directly, so we can resolve any complaints or unhappiness. We always manage to achieve that. This particular issue was not handled in that manner and in the process a number of people became quite unhappy (including you).

This particular spat is between two bikers and had nothing to do with MPSA. Subsequent to the original posting Martin Etsebeth called me telephonically and explained his reason for being upset.

We have now remedied the situation by including his name as the first biker to ride the route, as well as Keith Pickersgill, who submitted the route. All the fuss could have been avoided if we were contacted up front. We had no idea about the first rider of the route.

Unfortunately this "issue" went a little viral and it appears as if MPSA was singled out for the blame, which is not the fact of the matter at all. If I sounded abrupt in the post above, that is the reason for it. All we ask is that people communicate with us. Our contact details are publicly available all over the internet. You talk - we listen.

My post was of where I saw the route and for you to look and draw your own conclusion.

I apologize if from that you saw it as an attack on your organisation who's posts I normally enjoy
