Event Description:

Philadelphia Funduro

Come and enjoy a family day out on a route with breathtaking views of table mountain and the vineyards and wheat fields of the Philadelphia area.

This is one of the most popular funduro events in the Western Cape, due to it’s close proximity to Cape Town and the stunning scenery en route. This year’s ride starts at the same venue as previous years at the Boterberg Farm. As before the terrain includes hill climbs, sand, mud holes, river crossing, and farm/field roads. It may be muddy and slippery if it rains but you can be assured of lots of fun !!!

The route, which is the same as last year, includes a lot of flat dirt roads in the early stages, making is somewhat boring for those other than beginners. The single track sections in the woods along the river are awesome though, and worth coming just for that.

This event is well suited to families and beginners as there is a lot of flat open road and jeep track. There is less to offer the more experienced or technical riders. Nevertheless, it is a great day out on a well marked route. Stick around for a beer and boerie roll afterwards!

Snack & Soft drink at halfway & refuelling point. Please ensure that your petrol cans are clearly marked and put on the fuel trailer/bakkie at start point – REMEMBER to collect your can before departure).

Coffee and snacks will be available to purchase.

I've had my sights on doing this Funduro for a while now. Do you think it is possible to do it with a F650GS? I've done most of the above mentioned; sand, some hill climbs, river crossing and 4x4 roads, I should be able to handle the single track I think.

Anything is possible but I certainly would not attempt it on my 650GS thats for sure.
