Koueveld Pass - a great gravel road for bikers

This week we feature the Koueveld Pass which is mostly ignored after the awe and splendour of the Seweweekspoort, which is in close proximity, but the Koueveld Pass is a really nice gravel pass with a fairly big altitude variance and offers excellent examples of Cape Fold mountains on the northern side of the mighty Swartberg and if you ride it after rain you will be treated to two attractive, vertical drop waterfalls. And then there are those ostrich sculptures near the foot of the pass, made up from old car parts.

In our news release today, we travel through to Knysna on a relief mission with a truck load full of essential supplies for the fire victims and then we head off to the Gamkaskloof, to refilm this iconic road, the Elands Pass, plus we plan on doing a video interview with Annatjie Joubert - the last 'Klower' who owns a farm (Fonteinplaas) at Die Hel. The closure of the Swartberg Pass at Prince Albert has seen a big decline in bookings and some decent publicity might go some way towards helping this family survive through the next 18 months. If you can, please support them by staying overnight (or longer).
