After having lost my fuel pump on my f800gs at 24 000km i replaced this with a generic Bosch unit. What i did notice was the amount of contamination and black dirt in the fuel filter.  I managed to get a new KL315 from overseas and the difference when blowing through it was shocking. It definately must have been the reason for the damaged fuel pump. I cannot believe that it is claimed to be a lifelong filter. Bottom line is that considering the cost of the fuel pump the replacement of the fuel filter should be a given every 20 000 km . As I ordered more than 1 9 shipping expensive) I do have genuine Mahle KL315 filter available should anyone want to replace them.

I would be interested in buying one from you. Funny enough, my fuel pump had also been changed over to a Bosch unit. I am riding a 2011 GS 800.

The price for the filter is R504.  Shipping will cost extra but within CPT that will a minor amount.

will send you my detail on pm
