A big thank you to all involved in the organising of the track day yesterday at Killarney, it was so nice to see all the smiles on the faces. For me personally it was the highlight of my day seeing all the members on their respective BMW bikes having fun and making this their focus, no matter whether you were riding a GS or RT- everyone chatted, exchanged stories and was smiling....really awesome. I am still amazed by what these amazing machines can do and the extent of what one can push them to. VERY big thank you to Dave, the marshalls, orginisers, standby medical staff, pillions, riders and instructors. A special thank you to the 3 BMW dealers that were there to help in their respective ways, thank you to both the Hamman's (both Snr & Jnr),John Carr from Donford as well as Wayne, John Oliver, Dave, Shane....all the guys from Atlantic. To the speedfreaks.....take it easy but enjoy within limits. Kindest Regards, Johan de Jager

I support the sentiment. An outstanding day that takes skill to the next level! My poor Dakar spent time on one wheel, it's tyres became hot bubblegum, the rev limiter kept shouting at me and my brain and body eventually agreed that a bike can lean that far while my eyes are looking over my shoulder! Friendly faces all round! Thanks BMW and Killarney - oh yes AND Blue Peter for the sunset (can't thank them for service ... the tea still hasn't arrived!) ''The world needs dreamers that DO!''

Thanks to Dave And all three dealerships for this day as well as those attending(numbers are needed),I really enjoyed listening to John Carr advising the ladies and learnt more...he really puts things across well. A funny moment...watching a Dakar coming down the main straight overtaking a few bikes, chasing an instructor on an 800, thinking he may out-brake him!!:-)

OK, let me be the first to ask. A hundred people bristling with the latest and greatest camera gadgetry - AND NOT ONE BLOOMING PHOTO YET! Come on you lot, what's it going to take to get some piccies up? :-) Lawrence (and for those too sensitive, I was not shouting, upset or in any way having a go at you by typing in upper case - but hell, wake up and get the pics up!) Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safetly in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadsides, loudly proclaiming WOW, What a RIDE!

Neil lies! He wanted me to ride as a pillion with the brolly. I told him this was not a circus, but a serious day in which to improve our skills. I think he may have cried.

For those GS riders with the time - Valentino was on the phone to me this morning - heard about the gs's at Killarney yesterday and has finally come to his senses - he is leaving his current contract and joining SWJ BMW (you need to be in the know) as the lead GS racer - and YES he will also be taking part in the very exclusive Rider/Pillion event as well - he has assured me that his pillion is not overly excitable and should be able to cope. He realises that he will be under extreme pressure from day 1 and he will upgrade from a 650 to a 1200 as soon as he has the money!!! Cant wait Ps - great day - thanks to one and all

Corné was up to his usual antics and almosed caused a lady to crash!!!! He was climbing off the seat on his 650GS trying to get his Knee down....she almost crashed through....... LAUGHTER. Had he succeeded and his knee guard not been in position it would have given a new slant to ....knee-slider:-) Never a dull moment with Corné, we'll miss him if he does go to Oz.
