In our news release today we take a look at the capital of Kannaland, which is the blissfully quiet hamlet of Van Wyksdorp. With a population of 700 perhaps the most remarkable point is that the village boasts not one, but two bottle stores. It's obviously a thirsty place! But our main interest is the single width Assegaaibosch Pass, which is located about 10 km east of the village. Many people incorrectly call this the Rooiberg Pass, which is understandable, but the Rooiberg Pass only starts another 15 km further to the east after crossing the low plateau known as Dwars in die Weg.

The page is open to everyone until Sunday evening. Enjoy!
